How does a hybrid limousine work?

Consider as an example, a mo-ped (a motorized pedal bike) is a type of hybrid because it combines the power of a gasoline engine with the pedal power of its rider. In truth, hybrid vehicles are all among us. Almost all locomotives we see pulling trains are diesel-electric hybrids. A number of limousine are nuclear-electric and some are diesel-electric. All the vehicles that combines two or more sources of power that can directly or indirectly provide propulsion power is a hybrid.

In times, when many customers ask for a green limo they used to be disappointed to see the higher costs involved. They then elect standard, gasoline-based limousine service. But with more green limos in usage, the costs of acquiring and using a green limo already went down.

It was also interesting to note the focus on alternative fuels as opposed to the standard hybrids. In another green note, CNN reported that hybrid registrations were at their lowest rate of increase. It thru that hybrid technology is not slowing down as an alternative. This is too great, as alternative fuel cars can now be widely available. That means old-fashioned gasoline driven cars are loosing their momentum, a good trend for our environment.

Very important to know is that one of the major air pollutants is the Carbon Monoxide (CO). It is an odourless, colourless gas. After being inhaled, CO molecules can enter the bloodstream, where they inhibit the delivery of oxygen throughout the body. Low concentrations can cause dizziness, headaches, and fatigue; high concentrations can be fatal. Meaning that, by using an hybrid limo you help not only the environment but your and others people health.

In sharp contrast to gasoline-only limousines, which normally are far more fuel-efficient on the highway, hybrids do better in stop-and-go city driving, when they can operate all-electric at slow speeds and have batteries repeatedly recharged as the brakes are applied, through the technological marvel known as regenerative braking.

Well, the hybrid future is quickly becoming the hybrid present. Appealing to an ever-growing number of regular folk interested in saving money at the pumps or doing their small part to reduce our dependency on oil.

A Long the way, gas-electric auto technology seems to be an elite image. Celebrities and rich people were the first clients of these limousines type, many times called green limos. Leonardo DiCaprio hired one to present himself in the Holyood cerimonia, while Cameron Diaz, explained the essence of using a hybrid technology on the Tonight Show: "It, like, shuts down and then all of a sudden you just step on the gas and you're going. It's unbelievable, I'm thrilled. I'm so excited, because it's, like, our future. That's our future."
